Weekly Update – Club Captain Phil Barlow
A big thanks to Doug Claridge for the commentary in my absence last week.
The weather held off for the March monthly medal and LGU and with the course playing well, there were some very good rounds played. The Scott McKenzie fundraiser playing alongside the monthly medal was well supported. Thank you to all the members who entered and donated towards Scott’s bucket list. He was very surprised at the support from the club members and of the monies raised. A big thank you to the organisers Brian Tinworth, Harvey Teulon, and Wayne Coleman for their efforts in making this a success for Scott.
This week is the first round of the men’s and women’s Harewood 4BBB matches. Please be on time for your tee off and enjoy this great competition. Reminder that if you are in the upcoming 4BBB match play, your score will not count towards a Shootout round.
The following weekend is a Centenary shotgun start at either 8am or 12.30pm so get your entries into the Pro Shop. Entry is $20.00 including the twos, nett eagles and Stableford prizes.
Another reminder that entries to the Allprint Shootout will close on 18 March, so get in quick.

Well done to you all
Rule of the week
I was at Millbrook standing behind Shae Wools-Cobb, when batting for the NZ Open title, hits his ball AND another buried underneath it in the rough on the 9th hole. I have hunted for the rule, but can’t find a concise version, so have instead included links to what happened. Have a look, and remember, there was no penalty, as he addressed and hit his own ball as his shot.

Pro Tip of the week - Craig Mitchell
To improve your short putting try the famous Phil Mickelson drill.
Get 10 balls and make a three-foot circle around a hole on the practice green (a gentle sloping putt), then work your way around the hole.
- Work through your pre putt routine
- If you miss one you must start all over again
This works if you put the time in.

SCOTTY FUNDRAISER DAY - TOTAL RAISED: $8270
Scotty was truly overwhelmed by Harewood Club Members for what was achieved on the day and the support that everyone showed to him on the day. What an awesome result and thanks very much for those who supported this fundraiser event for Scott Mackenzie.
What a turn out. We had 60 members participate in this event last Saturday. We could not have asked for a better golf day and we hope everyone enjoy the day.

There were approximately 40 prizes to be won on the day. Those participates who did not collect their prizes from the prize table can now collect these from the Pro Shop. There is a list on the notice board outside the Pro shop of those people who have not collected their prize.
We would like to thank our major sponsors, Kevin Whiteside Wayne Colman, Tony Pole, Greg Hedges, Harvey Tuelon, Brian Tinworth, Errol Hume, Jamie Steel and Malcolm Cameron. With out these people, this event would not have been so successful.
To all those who participated, thanks you for your awesome contribution. Those who donated money, prizes on the day and before this event, a big thank you. There were a few new members of the club who did not know
Scotty but played in his event, thank you. This shows us the spirit and future of the club is in good hands.
I also like to thank the Match Committee for allowing us to run this event in conjunction with the Monthly Metal.
Craig and Annabel, great job, thank you for setting up the day’s events and giving us the results. Martin, thank you for looking after the monetary side and providing us with a record of the members who paid. Wayne Colman, thank you for your advice prior to the days event and for your help on the day, very much appreciated.
On behave of Harvey and myself; we are very proud of our fellow members in the club by helping us archive more than we hope for in money value for Scotty. So Scotty can now cross off two of his ‘bucket list’ items that he wanted to do.
A BIG THANK YOU TO YOU ALL, well done everyone.
Harvey and Brian
