Weekly Update – Club Captain Phil Barlow
Well, the warm sunny Saturdays had to end sometime, and while it was still quite warm, there was a little bit of showery weather to deal with throughout the day. This of course did not really deter too many as the course was quite busy. The greens were a bit quicker than normal after being rolled, however, ran nice and true.
With Daylight Saving changing over this weekend, be sure to check which tee you are starting from once we move to the 2 tee starts the following weekend. 2 tee starts also put pressure on playing slots, so please, if you book, and cannot make it for the slot you have booked, please remove your name when you can or contact the Pro Shop to do so for you. There will be people waiting to fill those places with the increased membership we are experiencing.
A reminder for those through to the next round of 4BBB matches. Check the results sheet to see who you are playing in the next round, and if you can’t make the Saturday allocated, please contact the Pro Shop to help arrange an alternate day/time. Note that Saturday 15 April is round 3 for the men’s 4BBB, but this was omitted from the programme. Make a note of the date if you were a round 2 winner.
Easter Saturday is a Shotgun start, only 1 competition and teeing off at 11:30am, so contact the Pro Shop to be in for this as numbers may be limited.
This weekend club golf sees the men playing Monthly Medal – Blue tees. The women have LGU Rnd 3, and Harewood Cup Rnd 1.

Well done to you all
Rule of the week (Rule 12.2b - Applies to a Mound of Sand from an Animal Hole in a Bunker)
If a player's ball lies in a bunker on or near a mound of sand that is part of an animal hole, the restrictions in Rule 12.2b(1) apply to touching that mound of sand.
However, the player may take relief from the animal hole (which is an abnormal course condition) under Rule 16.1c
So in essence, the mound of sand is ‘in play’ however relief can be taken from the animal hole.
Pro Tip of the week - Craig Mitchell
This week’s Tip is on long-range putting.
Never think about how hard to hit a long-range putt. Have a practise stroke looking at the hole and try to feel the distances in your rehearsal stroke – then aim and trust your feel.

Club News – General Manager
Although we have had a lot of rain this week the Greenkeepers have been busy preparing the course for you, they even managed to squeeze in a mow late yesterday to get the course looking great today!
To support their hard work the Pro Shop team have a new product in store, the Eezidivot is a 750ml which holds 1.2kg of sand for all those divots on the course. It hangs on your bag or cart and is easy to use. Most importantly it keeps that sand dry as you go around the course. Feel free to ask the Pro Shop team any questions about it.
