General Manager - Richard Attwood
Clubhouse Development
The developments are moving along nicely with further painting being completed and the front of the men’s changing room completed this week. On Monday the spouting is to come down and further building work to continue and further painting to be started on Wednesday.
A special mention to a small group of mid-week men who volunteered their time to dismantle some of the ripped chairs in the clubhouse ready to be recycled in the coming weeks. Your time and efforts are appreciated.
Club Update – Doug Claridge
The course was busy for last Saturday ‘s first round of the Harewood 4BB event , and with a full tee sheet from the dawn starters the course was booked solid through to 1pm .The pro shop reported that by 5 pm there had been 220 players on the course .Speaking of the course – it was in great condition with the greens running true and quicker than they have been over the las t few months The course conditions and a favorable SW wind reflected the good scores in the ‘Others’ Stableford event( see the results )
The first round of matches for the Men’s 4 BB have been completed. The pro-shop has booked and sent out the match tees times for Saturday the 23rd of March. As for the first round, matches need to be completed on or before the next round which is scheduled for the 13th of April. If a match needs to be changed it must be by mutual agreement, and with the consent of the pro-shop / club captain. Your opposition does have the right to decline your request to change a match date. The programme for the next month is busy with easter falling at the end iof the month and a Monthly medal off the blue tees the week after.
This weekend sees the final round of the Mens Metro A and B competition. Harewood is hosting the Metro A final round, unfortunately the Metro A team is unable to make the Semi-finals but will be playing for a better final placing taking on Waitikiri. The Metro B team are at Russley and sit in 3rd place. They take on Templeton who are in 4th, equal on points and ½ a game behind. Hopefully they get a win to make the Semis. Good luck to both teams.
This weekend is a Shotgun start at either 8am or 12.30. The pro shop are taking entries if you haven’t entered.

Pro Tip by Craig Mitchell
Keep the big numbers off your score card.
Next time you’re in trouble if you can’t get it back in play or on the green seven times out of ten – Pitch it out on the fairway and take your chances from there :)

Junior Match Play Interclub Competition - Antonio Dimitrov
The Team started very promisingly last weekend for the 1st Round of Junior Interclub Match play at Waimairi Beach.
The conditions were good for playing, except the very cold morning. Our Team was very well prepared and produced some very good shots.
As a parent manager I would like to congratulate our Team for the great game of golf! The players demonstrated high standard and understanding of golf with excellent behaviour and self-control.
The results were: Harewood v Hororata 2:2
Seiji Dimitrov - gross 83 (lost 4/5)
Tom Gainsford - gross 89 (won 3/4)
Jonathan Zhou - gross 86 (lost 2/3)
Timote Tu'ilotolava - gross 99 (won 3/4)
The most exciting hole was No.7 when two of our players scored "birdie" on par 5 and all 4 shots were absolutely similar. See the photos below.
